About the 4th RE Congress:

The RE Congress this year shall focus on the national and local context of renewable energy. The plenary session will delve into the overarching concern on accelerating RE deployment towards meeting the minimum 35% RE target by 2030 set by the government. This will be tackled in the keynote address, panel discussion, and in the multi-stakeholders' manifesto on RE and just transition. This, in view of other major linked concerns—sustainable recovery and development from the pandemic and disasters, massive joblessness and income inequality, and contributions in pursuing the RE and just transition agenda for the next administration.

The Renewable Energy Congress 2021 seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • Address critical issues in the energy industry towards policy reforms, particularly on meeting the target RE share in the energy.
  • Advance the integration of renewable energy, just transition and green recovery agenda in the government's economic recovery and development plans. Highlight how RE can help spur job creation and livelihoods for a Better Normal.
  • Contribute in providing stakeholders with information and insights into RE acceleration to increase participation in public discourse, as well as in the development planning, policy drafting, decision making and implementation of programs to address energy poverty, economic crisis, and the impacts of climate change.
